Yesterday, I received the following email:

Dear R.A. McCandless,

Congratulations! Your entry Tears of Heaven has been named a finalist in the Paranormal Fiction category in EPIC's eBook Competition for 2015. Your finalist certificate and a copy of the finalist logo are attached. Feel free to display the logo on your website or social media pages.

So yeah, that happened.  Wow!

WOW!

WOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOW WOWWOW!
Yeppers, that much wow!

I had to check to be certain, but as of this morning, my name still appears there right next to Tears of Heaven and everything.

In my records, I found that my publisher, Wild Child Publishing had entered me in the competition all the way back in July.  That’s why this came as something as a wonderful shock.  It’s been six months since I sent off the book.  The above email went into my Spam folder, and I just happened to give it a second glance as I was cleaning out my offers for millions of dollars and rare “opportunities”.

Over-the-moon happy (even while fighting off a migraine) is exactly what I felt.  It’s been a helluva couple days with the release of In Shambles and now being named a finalist.  As cliché as it is, I do feel honored to be selected.

Tears of Heaven has been an incredible ride.  There are too many people to thank, too many to express proper appreciation.  I’ve had such wonderful support from friends, family, acquaintances and even a couple of honest-to-goodness “fans”.

As understated as it is: Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the months and years.  It has been greatly appreciated!

  1. Robroy, I just want to say that it pleases me to see your work honored in this way. I suspect you'll see a lot more of this sort of thing along the way, and I hope it never loses its WOW! factor for you.
